It seems like BMW has some huge plans for the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show. Along with the BMW 6-Series Coupe, the German automaker plans on debuting the next-generation BMW M5 as well as the BMW ActiveHybrid 5.
At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, BMW unveiled the Concept 5-Series ActiveHybrid. Power for the BMW the Concept 5-Series ActiveHybrid came from a 300-hp straight-6 gasoline with TwinPower Turbo technology mated to a 40 kW electric-motor and an 8-speed automatic transmission. We expect the same system to debut in the production model.
As for the BMW M5 – well, if you’ve been following it for a while you know that power is likely to come from a twin-turbo V8 making between 585 to 600-hp.
