Get excited: Future Lincoln vehicles will be differentiated from Ford

Lincoln
Lincoln dealers, like us, are patiently waiting to see what’s next from the luxury brand. We already know for a couple of months now that Lincoln will have 7 or new significantly refreshed vehicles over the next 4 years, which includes a compact car.

According to Derrick Kuzak, head of global development at Ford Motor Co., Lincoln vehicles in the future will be fully differentiated from Ford brand vehicles with their own sheet metal, powertrains, interiors and technology such as suspension control.

“We will have truly unique Lincoln DNA from the Ford brand,” Kuzak said. “We’re building an organization within the company of dedicated people,” Booth said. “We’re reteaching ourselves to think of Lincoln as a brand we have to drive.”

Lincoln is also developing a distribution network for the brand, said Chief Financial Officer Lewis Booth.

Separately, Alan Mulally believes that this is the perfect time and chance to position Lincoln against other luxury brands such as BMW, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz.
