Kia KV7 hints at new 7-seater Sedona replacement, it may do the Ford Flex thing

Kia KV7

By now you’ve probably seen the teaser for the Kia KV7 Concept which will make its debut at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show next week. According to reports coming out of UK, the concept with gullwing doors previews a replacement for the Sedona minivan.

Apparently Kia is hoping to make the minivan segment competitor a little more appealing and larger than the one it replaces. Sources say that styling will also be influenced by the compact Soul car. The car is expected to be another step in the Korean automaker’s design revolution under Peter Schreyer (ex-Audi head of design). The concept was designed by Joey Mo at Kia’s American design studio in Irvine, California, and was overlooked by Schreyer himself.

If received with applause at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, the Kia KV7 could enter production in 18 months. Oh, and the 7 at the end of the KV7 name stands for ‘7-seater’.
