BMW’s Nov. sales outpace Audi and Mercedes-Benz

2011 BMW 5-Series

Deliveries of new BMW, Mini, and Rolls-Royce models rose 20% this November when compared to last year, as BMW outpaced sales growth against Mercedes and Audi on the backs of the revamped 5-Series and X1 SUV. Audi saw a sales increase of 5.2%, while Mercedes-Benz saw a jump of 14%.

“BMW is well on its way to reaching its target of more than 1.4 million units this year,” Ian Robertson, BMW’s sales chief, said in the statement. “We are outperforming the market and were able to expand our market share worldwide once again.”

This year has been good for the luxury market on the whole; an expanding Chinese market and rebounding US economy are leading people o the segment more than ever before. Audi knows this all too well as it set a personal best by surpassing its previous annual sales record in November.
