Report: Chrysler to hire 1,000 engineers and skilled workers

The Detroit automakers are pumping and hiring new workers. Following GM’s announcement yesterday to add 1,000 electric vehicle engineers and researchers, Chrysler is also planning on hiring 1,000 engineers and other skilled workers over the next four months to enhance its small and mid-sized car development efforts, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Chrysler’s U.S. sales have been up 17 percent in 2010 to 910,357 units and the company is currently in the process of adding a bunch of new products with 16 new or restyled models.
The Auburn Hills automaker is also working on several models based on Fiat vehicles that will be introduced over the next couple of years.
