The 2012 Saab 9-4X, which made its world debut at the 2010 LA Auto Show last week, will go on sale in May 2011.Prices for the 2012 9-4X start at $34,205 (excluding destination freight charge, tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment). The first 500 customers to sign up through the special Saab 9-4X registration website will have the chance to get an Apple iPad at no additional expense.

“Simply place your vehicle order with a participating Saab dealer between January 15 and February 28, 2011, and purchase an Apple iPad with Wi-Fi(16GB) for $500 plus tax from your dealer,” Saab said. “When your 9-4X arrives, the purchase price of the vehicle will be credited $500.”

Refresher: The 2012 Saab 9-4X is available with two V6 powertrain choices, both mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The entry-level engine is a 3.0L engine making 265-hp allowing the 9-4X to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.9 seconds with front-wheel-drive (8.4 seconds with Saab’s XWD all-wheel-drive). The second model is a 2.8L turbo V6 making 300-hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Mated standard to XWD, the turbo Saab 9-4X sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds. Prices start at $34,205.
