FAB Design gives Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG some nice visual upgrades, more power

The Mercedes SLS has one of the most recognizable looks in all of automaking, with its scissor doors and compact figure. The latest AMG supercar takes care of the speed part with a 0-62 in 3.8 seconds, an amazing time.

But that doesn”t mean it can”t be done better; FAB Design, with their performance and body kit for the SLS AMG, shaved a tenth off that time, getting the 0-60 down to 3.7. They did this by getting 40 more horsepower from the powerful Mercedes AMG V8. The sport suspension helps to give the car more flexibility in the bends as well.

The car”s looks also get dressed up; a full body kit with front spoilers, side skirts, a new rear bumper/diffuser, and a new rear wing accentuate the body. On the wheels, 20 inch Evoline rims complete the package. The tuning on this car is more than just visual, too; integrated valve control lets the driver control the amount of noise the car makes as well. It”s a new pack for a new car, and certainly pulls the SLS further into the future from its retro look.

Refresher: Power for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG comes from a 6.2L V8 making 563-hp with a maximum torque of 479 lb-ft. Mated to an E-SELECT system that controls the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sport transmission, the SLS AMG can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds (with the Race Start launch control system) with a top speed of 196 mph.
