Generation Y car shoppers buying a Toyota or a Honda isn’t that surprising. However, a new study by research firm AutoPacific shows that younger car buyers are now also flocking towards Ford. The study found that Chevrolet and Nissan are also amongst the top 5 brands pursued by Generation Y shoppers. Kia and Hyundai also broke into the top 10 purchased list in 2010, replacing Mazda and Jeep.
For those of you that don’t know Generation Y is roughly defined as those born around 1983.
“The fact that Generation Y has a bigger footprint in brands like Hyundai and Kia than in past years means these brands are definitely doing something right to gain Gen Y’s attention,” says George Peterson, president of AutoPacific.
Results of AutoPacific’s annual study is based on 42,000 new car and light truck buyers.
