The Lexus SC convertible ended production in July but we previously heard that a replacement is on the way for 2014 featuring a 5.0L V8 coupled with hybrid electric system. We now have some more details courtesy of the folks over at Motor Trend.
Internally known as the LC 600h, the model will be a very sporty vehicle with retractable hard top like the SC. Sources say that the LC 600h will be based on a shortened version of the next-generation LS platform and will feature all-wheel-drive. With an output of around 500-hp, the model should be able to go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
What will the LC 600h compete with? When everything is said and done the performance, luxury and the driving dynamics should elevate the model to rival the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.
The LC 600h is expected to hit showrooms sometime in 2014.
