A couple of months ago (July to be exact), Honda”s PR guy Kurt Antonius said that there is no hurry for the Japanese automaker to develop a successor to the compact Civic since the current model was selling so well. While we’re sure that the Civic is still one of the hottest compact sellers on the market, but it seems Honda has finally starting work on the next-generation model.
Spies at CAR Magazine recently caught prototypes of the 2012 Honda Civic traveling down the desert highways of Dubai.
Overall, the 2012 Honda Civic seems to have a more ‘grow-up’ look with a more elegant front end and redesigned tail lamps adding a more sophisticated style. No word on what’s going to power the next-generation Civic, but sources say that a 1.5L is being tested in stead of a 140-hp 1.8L.
