Spy Shots: 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 hits up the Nurburgring

Spy Shot: Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Spies have spotted the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 prototype taking hot laps of the Nurburgring Nordschleife before its debut next year.

It is widely known that the next-generation Camaro Z28 will get its power from the same 6.2L supercharged V8 found in the Cadillac CTS-V lineup. The engine is good for a total of 556-hp and a maximum torque of 551 lb-ft. In the Caddys, the engine is available with a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual with a dual-disc clutch and a Hydra-Matic 6L90 six-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted shift controls.

Stopping power will come from upgraded Brembo brakes.
