Slowly recovering from its recall woes, Toyota today reported that its September 2010 sales were up 16.8 percent over the same month an year ago with sales totaling 147,162 units.
The Toyota brand reported sales of 130,214 vehicles, an increase of 20.5 percent over the year-ago month. Scion posted September sales of 3,562 units, while Lexus reported sales of 16,948 units for the month, down 5.5 percent from September 2009.
Toyota’s hybrid sales were up 2 percent with a total of 14,871 hybrid vehicles. Lexus reported sales of 1,850 hybrids in September.
