In an interview with French newspaper, Le Monde, Renault – Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said that he is still interested in having a closer relationship with General Motors.
“Today, I remain open to closer ties with GM,” Ghosn was quoted saying. “If they are interested, they will come to us.”
He said that he originally proposed the idea of working with GM during the economic crisis last year when he met with Steve Rattner, the former auto czar for President Barack Obama’s autos bailout task force.
Ghosn said earlier this month that he declined an offer by the Obama administration to become CEO of GM because he already had so much on his plate with Renault – Nissan.
