Report: Porsche to call new small SUV ‘Cajun’

According to a report by German magazine Der Spiegel, Porsche will bring the much-rumored small SUV to the market very soon. In an interview with the German publication, Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn said that the new Porsche SUV will help expand the brand’s lineup, which is looking to boost sales.

Winterkorn also said that the “new SUV, a smaller brother to the Cayenne… might be named Cajun.”

The new Porsche Cajun, previously known as the Porsche Rockster, will be based on the Audi Q5. The model should arrive by the end of 2014 or early 2015.

Winterkorn said that Porsche wants to expand its 4-model lineup to double sales in the medium term to 150,000 cars and SUVs annually.
