Report: Nissan considering Sentra coupe

2011 Nissan Sentra

Nissan announced yesterday that it has created a new division that combines product planning, marketing, advertising and public relations under one umbrella. This will be seen in the shared DNA of Nissan North America’s next-generation passengers cars, an element that is missing from the current models.

The Nissan Versa, Sentra and Altima coupe and sedan are due for redesigns within the next two years. The three models account for the largest percentage of Nissan’s total sales in the United States – with the Altima being the best-selling model.

An interesting tidbit that Larry Dominique, chief product planner, told WardsAuto was that Nissan is considering a Sentra coupe. The model will replace the recently considered front-wheel-drive, low-cost coupe that was supposed to be a successor of the 240SX.
