Rumor: Audi R4 e-tron roadster concept coming to Paris
At the 2010 Detroit Auto Show in January, Audi surprised the media with a new e-tron concept that was smaller than its R8 e-tron sibling. At the time, the 2-seater concept became known as a possible concept study for a baby R8, dubbed R4.
Well, at the 2010 Paris Motor Show later this month, Audi is rumored to show an R4 e-tron roadster concept. Details are limited but we expect the roadster concept to be powered by the same powertrain setup as the coupe that debuted in Detroit.
The Audi e-tron coupe concept shown in Detroit was powered by two electric motors with a total output of 204-hp, allowing the mini e-tron to go from 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds. A sprint from 37 to 75 mph takes just 5.1 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 124 mph.
Audi has begun testing the R8 e-tron on public roads and will put the car into limited production in 2012 with only 1,000 units.
