Wiesmann looking for BMW V10 engine replacement for its MF5 lineup

Like Morgan Motors, Wiesmann is another company known for its classic design and hand built sports car. The company’s MF5 coupe and roadster have recently hit a road block as BMW plans to drop the V10, that the MF5 uses, in favor of a twin-turbo V8.

Wiesmann is now searching for a replacement for the MF5 since the V10 from the BMW M5 and M6 are no longer available. Wiesmann is currently discussing multiple units for replacement and expects the decision to come in a month or two.

The current Wiesmann Roadster MF5 (pictured here) is powered by 5.0L V10 making 507-hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. It can run from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 192 mph.
