Video: 2012 BMW M5 goes drifting in the rain on the Nurburgring

The 2012 BMW M5 is no stranger to the Nurburgring and has been spotted numerous times undergoing high-speed testing on the famous German track. The latest spy video shows the next-generation BMW M5 drifting in the rain on the Nordschleife.
So far reports suggest that power will come from an uprated version of the 4.4 V8 twin-scroll found in the BMW X6 M and X5 M. The engine is expected to produce anywhere between 580-hp and 600-hp with a maximum torque of 530 lb-ft. That should allow 0-62 mph to come in under 4.4 seconds.
The 2012 BMW M5 is scheduled to go on sale in the second half of 2011.
