2011 BMW X1 sales top 64,000 since model launch

Looking for the 2011 BMW X1 to hit U.S. showrooms? Well, you’d be glad to know that the model is selling pretty well in other regions of the world. When the BMW X1 made its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, critics were a bit skeptical about the model since it is the first car in what will become the premium small SUV segment.
The X1 has proven the critics wrong and has sold 55,550 units through the first 7 months of 2010. Since its market launch in late-October 2009, BMW has sold over 64,049 units of the 2011 X1.

So even though Jeremy Clarkson is not a fan of the new X1, the model seems to be popular with Europeans in all markets of the region.
Refresher: The BMW X1 will come to the United States in early 2011 and will only available in the xDrive28i gasoline model. It is powered by a 3.0 6-cylinder making 231-hp and a 199 lb-ft of torque.
