Range Rover planning fourth model, will fit between Evoque and Range Rover Sport

2012 Range Rover

Land Rover has a lot in the works for its Range Rover lineup. We already know that the Range Rover Evoque coupe crossover is scheduled to hit United States in fall of 2011 and will be marketed as the smallest, lightest and most fuel-efficient Range Rover ever produced. But the British SUV brand isn’t going to stop there.

According to reports from the UK, Range Rover plans on adding another model that will fit between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. Sources say that executives were encouraged by the reception to the Evoque and are now considering another niche model.

Insiders said that development on the fourth model is at a very early stage and that Land Rover has yet to fully define the nature and design of the vehicle.

No word on whether the model will be a hybrid model, but sources say the new model will help the firm lower its average CO2 emissions.
