Besides the new Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover will be adding new models in the near future. According to Tata Motors’ boss Carl-Pete Forster, Land Rover has “tremendous growth potential” and will fill more market sectors that could force it to produce vehicles outside of the UK.
He said that Land Rover will start a new-model blitz that will not only add new models besides the upcoming Evoque, but add more diesel, small gasoline engines and hybrid power to its lineup.
The overhaul will also allow Tata, Jaguar and Land Rover to share components. The next-generation Range Rover, due in 2013, is expected to be build on the same aluminum platform as the current XJ sedan.
The growth plans also means that JLR will be adding 1,700 engineers.
