Volkswagen AG has appointed Matthias Mueller, who currently is the head of product planning at the company, as CEO of Porsche AG. Mueller will be responsible for reviving Porsche’s lineup moving forward as the company integrates into Volkswagen.
Current CEO Michael Macht will take place of Jochem Heizmann as VW Group’s production chief. The changes will take effect Oct. 1.
Porsche has plans to expand its four-model lineup and double sales to 150,000 passenger cars and SUVs.
Volkswagen as a group has plans to overtake Toyota as the world’s largest automaker in deliveries and profitability in 2018.
