Toyota recalls close to 92,000 vehicles in Japan over faulty engines
Toyota has announced that it is going to recall a total of 91,903 Lexus and Crown vehicles in Japan due to a faulty engine problem. The Japanese automaker told the government on Monday that it is recalling close to 92,000 vehicles for flaws in the valve springs that could cause the vehicle to stall while it is in motion.
Toyota’s spokesman Pail Nolasco said that recalls in other markets will follow shortly. The total number of vehicles to be recalled will hit 270,000 including 138,000 in the United States.
On Friday, Lexus announced that it has informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of its intention to recall vehicles with faulty engines.
“We apologize for inconveniencing our customers. We hope to fix the problem soon,” Nolasco said.
