David Coulthard test drives Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell

If you haven’t heard of David Coulthard, then you’re obviously not into Formula One or motorsports altogether. Coulthard made his Formula One debut in 1994 and won 13 Grands Prix in a career spanning 15 seasons.

Coulthard is now visiting Mercedes-Benz to drive something totally different when compared to a Formula One car – in fact, it’s totally different than any care you might come across on the roads today – Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell Prototype.

Check out Coulthard test driving the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell in the video posted after the jump.

Refresher: The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell Prototype is powered by four electric-motors that produce a total of 526-hp with a peak torque of 649 lb-ft. The four motors are positioned near each wheel with a transmission on each end to transfer power to the street. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell  goes from 0-60 mph in 4 seconds. While not confirmed, previous reports suggest a total driving range of 110 miles.
