Think City EV Cup Edition kicks off electric racing
It had to happen eventually, and England was the first to get to it; the first ever EV Cup Edition racing series kicked off with Eco Car Trials on June 18. The all-“˜green” racing series drivers will be on hand at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend as well.
The Think City race-prepped vehicle will also be on hand at the 2010 Paris Auto Show , and then the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. At the LA show, there will also be a press-conference announcing a 2011 race schedule for series.
The race-prepped Think City weighs in at 154 pounds leaner than its standard counterpart with its stripped interior which leaves a single lightweight racing seat and steering wheel. The glass has also been switched out in favor of Perspex, and the suspension reworked to lower the center of gravity and provide for more precise and nimble handling.
