Who the heck is Mikko Hirvonen? The Finnish rally driver currently drives for the BP Ford World Rally Team in the World Rally Championship and has placed third in the drivers’ championship and helped Ford to the manufacturers’ title in both 2006 and 2007.

So it’s only right that Hirvonen takes the new 2011 Ford Focus RS500 around the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife race track.

Refresher: Power for the Ford Focus RS500 comes from a turbocharged Duratec RS 2.5-L 5-cylinder engine making 345-hp with a maximum torque of 339 lb-ft. That allows it to go from 0-62 mph in 5.6 seconds with a top speed of 163 mph. Only 500 will be made.
