Lotus still working on V6 power for Exige

According to details from spy photographers, Lotus is working on upgraded versions of the Elise and Exige sports cars that could have V6 engines judging by the exhaust note. Spies said that the sound of the engine bore a close resemblance to the Lotus Evora, hinting at 6-cylinders.
Power for the 2010 Lotus Evora comes from a 3.5L V6 making 276-hp with a maximum torque of 252 lb-ft. Of course adding that V6 powerplant to the Exige would increase the weight of the car beyond the 2,204 lbs, which the model is well known for.
The high-performance Exige S makes 257-hp and 174 lb-ft.
We’ve being hearing about a V6 Exige since late last year, but the bosses had previously put plans on hold until a it could find a business case for it.
