Chrysler Group LLC is planning to launch a new corporate branding TV campaign to help repair its image in the minds of customers. The Auburn Hills automaker has hired a new ad agency, Interpublic Group of Cos.’ Gotham, for the project.
Both Chrysler and Gotham did not give any details on the new campaign but one source familiar with the work said the ads will show up in the next few weeks and will feature real company employees.
A year ago, Chrysler’s entire marketing account was handled by Omnicom Group, but since Fiat SpA took control of the automaker the work has been spread around many agencies.
Chrysler shrunk its marketing budget dramatically in recent times but it’s still over half a billion dollars in domestic measured media. In all of 2009, Chrysler spent $577 million, according to Kantar Media.
Our favorite recent Chrysler commercial was the Dodge Charger Super Bowl Ad – “Man’s Last Stand,” which you can check out after the jump.
