BMW consolidating its design, making it “more harmonious” on a global scale
BMW design director Adrian van Hooydonk says that the company’s design language is “consolidating” and becoming “more harmonious” to cater for different global tastes.
“Consolidation is good for the brand because it gives a clearer image of what BMW is,” van Hooydonk said. He said that the new 2011 BMW 5-Series and the new Gran Coupe Concept were both examples of this.
Both cars display a “more subtle use of the concave and convex” he said.
