Chrysler’s stand in Detroit to show Fiat 500 electric, Ferrari 458 Italia, Maserati GranCabrio

As reported earlier this morning, Fiat SpA and Chrysler Group LLC will show a Lancia derived Chrysler vehicle at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show next month. According to Automotive News, Chrysler will also show an electric version of the Fiat 500 minicar.

Sources say that Chrysler has no immediate plans to sell either of the vehicles in North America. The two vehicles will show how CEO Sergio Marchionne eventually plans to slowly merge Fiat and Chrysler. Both vehicles were developed under the guidance of brand CEO Olivier Francois, who was appointed after Fiat took control of Chrysler following its bankruptcy filing.

Sources said that a section of Chrysler’s stand will also display the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible. Also joining the huge Fiat / Chrysler display will be the regular Fiat 500, Fiat 500C Cabriolet and the Fiat 500 Abarth.

Chrysler spokesman Gualberto Ranieri confirmed that Chrysler will not be holding a press conference during next month’s show.
