Chrysler restores leasing deals for employees and retirees

Chrysler Dealership

Chrysler Group LLC is back to offering lease programs for about 26,000 salaried retirees and their surviving spouses after the incentive was discontinued last February for employees and retirees. For current employees, the program was restored in October. The program will allow retirees to lease two 2010 model Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge or Ram vehicles for 36 months between Dec. 9 and June 30, 2010.

GMAC will offer the leases to Chrysler employees and retirees.

“All of us at Chrysler appreciate the many years of service you provided,” Chrysler said in a letter signed by Nancy Rae, executive vice president of human resources, and Peter Grady, vice president for network development & fleet.

Chrysler stopped leasing to the public in 2008 in a move to conserve cash. It halted incentives to employees and retirees in February in an effort to save cash anyway it could before filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
