We’re still emptying our cameras from the 2009 LA Auto Show, so you can expect a post or two here and there. That brings us to this – based on the street-legal Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is stronger, wider and faster than its predecessors.
Also like the 911 GT3 RS, the 2010 GT3 Cup features a 1.73-inch wider body, wider front wheel arches, three-piece light-alloy wheels and front body panels from its street-legal sibling. The total weight of the car comes in at 2,646 lbs. If you want to know just how light that is, walk up to the GT3 Cup and open the door – it is awkwardly the lightest thing we’ve ever felt on any vehicle we’ve touched.
The 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup will continue to be produced on the same production line as all road-going 911 vehicles in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.
