Jeep will be the only Chrysler Group brand sold outside of the U.S.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Just before October ended, The Wall Street Journal leaked some details from Chrysler Group LLC CEO Sergio Marchionne’s 5-year business and product plan. The full plan in detail will be revealed on November 4.

According to people familiar with the plan, Fiat will also scrap Chrysler’s long-held plans for its brands outside of North America with the exception of Jeep. Sources said that Fiat plans to develop the Jeep brand and increase marketing for the SUV brand in emerging markets.

Sources said that the five-hour presentation by Fiat and Chrysler executives will focus on plans to bring new fuel-efficient models with Fiat-developed engine technology to the United States. That will include plans to bring over Fiat’s fuel-saving MultiAir engine technology to Chrysler cars.

A Chrysler spokeswoman declined to comment on any product announcements but said “it will be comprehensive.”
