GM’s 60-day money-back program sees 15 vehicles returned

2009 Chevrolet Corvette

Last week Bob Lutz told us that only one customer returned a car during GM’s 60-day money-back guarantee program. The return was more of an exchange where one man returned a Chevrolet Corvette with a manual transmission for one with an automatic transmission.

Today, almost a week later, General Motors said that it has had 15 customers return their cars for refunds under the money-back guarantee program. Spokesman Tom Henderson said that about 400 vehicle buyers, or “less than 1 percent” of sales since the program launched, have signed up for program. The rest took a $500 rebate.

The program runs through November 30 and allows customers to return a new 2009 and 2010 Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC or Buick vehicle for a full refund of the price and sales tax if they are unsatisfied with their purchase.
