Suzusho Supasse V looks like a Ferrari Enzo but is powered by a Mazdaspeed3 engine

Japanese-based kit car makers Suzusho will be unveiling its Supasse V at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show later this week. The car (or supercar if you will) looks like a mix between a Ferrari Enzo and a Pagani Zonda but competes with the Lotus Exige in terms of size.

Power for the Supasse V comes from a 2.3L DOHC turbo engine from the Mazdaspeed3 that produces 270-hp. What’s 270-hp going to for a car that looks like an Enzo and Zonda offspring and is as big as the Exige? A whole lot, considering it weighs just 1,875 lbs. The features an aluminum twin-tube monocoque spaceframe” and fiberglass body to keep weight down – in fact it weighs 1,100 lbs less than the Mazdaspeed3 itself.

We don’t have all the performance figures yet but we expect to learn more details at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. Sales of the Suzusho Supasse V will begin in the middle of 2010.
