Lotus CEO working on new plan to bring company back to the ranks of Ferrari
Lotus’ new CEO, Dany Bahar, said that he plans to build on the Hethel firm’s strong heritage to bring back the success it once had in the 1970s.
“Lotus was mentioned in the same sentence as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati in the 1970s-1990s,” he recently told reporters. “Then, it got closed into a corner. We believe it’s the right time to bring Lotus back to where it was.”
He said that the Lotus name had a lot of potential and strengths that he will focus on bringing out.
“Success is not to always think in one direction but about innovative technology and super efficiency,” he said.
Bahar said he is working on a new business plan to bring Lotus back to the top alongside Ferrari within the next three to five years. The former Ferrari executive replaced retired CEO Michael J. Kimberley.
