Next month at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, Chrysler Group LLC and Fiat SpA will both share a display, showcasing a new family portrait for the media and the public. For the first time ever, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep will stand in the same building and floor as Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Lancia, Ferrari and Maserati. Both automakers will occupy most of Hall 6 along with Hyundai.
Both Chrysler and Fiat will unveil 2010 model updates on existing vehicles.
The CEO of both companies, Sergio Marchionne, is expected to be very busy as he gets mobbed by the media to learn more about his product plans for both companies. However, spokesman Gualberto Ranieri said that Frankfurt will not be fitting to unveil Marchionne’s new vision.
So far Marchionne and his management have said that the first Fiat to come to the U.S. will be the 500, on sale next year as a Fiat. Also, we have learned that Dodge and Alfa Romeo are expected share product development and distribution.
We’re hopping Marchionne will provide some look into the new relationship that was cemented on June 10.
