2010 Chevrolet Equinox 1LT FWD test-drive update

2010 Chevrolet Equinox Test-Drive

We are now 5 days into our test-drive of the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and we’re still really impressed with the new GM crossover. As mentioned before, we are driving the 2010 Equinox 1LT FWD with a 182-hp 2.4L Ecotec direct-injected 4-cylinder engine.

During our first trip in the Equinox we were averaging a total of 24.6 mpg from New York City to our New Jersey hometown (a total of 40 something miles). 5-days after driving the 2010 Equinox everyday, we are now averaging a combined fuel-economy of 22.4 mpg.

Our favorite thing about the 2010 Equinox so far is the interior in terms of design, quality and quietness. Unlike previous GM products, the 2010 Equinox has quality built interior with a very ergonomically designed center console. The cabin is very quiet even when traveling at high-speeds.

All 2010 Equinox models are available with a 6-speed transmission. The ECO mode feature available with the 2.4L Ecotec model alters shift points to improve fuel-economy. Why you would ever drive your Equinox without the ECO feature is beyond us.

Either way, you have 3 more days to ask us questions about the Equinox – so ask away. Tweet at us or just drop a comment after the jump.
