According to reports coming out of Germany, Mazda is set to launch its updated RX-8 at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The changes to the new RX-8 will be mainly cosmetic including new LED rear lights, a redesigned interior and some exterior and aerodynamic tweaks.
A new front and rear spoiler will also be added along with new side skirts and a pair of dark gray 19-inch alloy wheels.
The updated Mazda RX-8 will keep its rear-wheel-drive system and its 228-hp rotary engine. Mated to a 6-speed manual, top speed will remain unchanged at 142 mph (155 mph on the stateside).
Mazda also plans to show the next-generation RX-7 at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show.
