What does Obama’s auto team drive? According to the Detroit News vehicles owned by the auto task force could affect the decisions made by those responsible for what the American auto industry’s future will be.
Out of the eight members of the Presidential Task Force and the ten senior policy members that will aid them in their decision, only two own American vehicles. After adding the Treasury Department’s special adviser makes that number jumps to three.
Co-chairs of the task force, including Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and White House National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers, both drive foreign automobiles. Geithner owns a 2008 Acura TSX while Summers drives a 1995 Mazda Protege. Summers previously owned a 1996 Ford Taurus GL.
