Lotus to help Jaguar with the XE roadster

We’ve been hearing a lot about the Jaguar XE as of lately. The most up-to-date info tells us that the XE will not be a supercar but a roadster that will compete with the likes of a Mercedes-Benz SLK and the BMW Z4.

According to new information by AutoCar, Lotus Engineering will be helping Jaguar on key engineering elements of the Jaguar XE. The handling gurus helped Jaguar on the chassis of the limited edition XKR-S coupe that also helped it on the new XKR.

Lotus’ work on the Jaguar XE will include aluminum chassis development and a number of other details on the front-engined two-seater.

The Jaguar XE is being rumored for a 2011 Geneva Motor Show launch but has yet to announce any production plans.
