GM let’s employees extend their discount to the public

GM’s ‘Employee Discount for Everyone’ incentive just ended Sept. 30th. The incentive was launched on Aug. 20th in hopes of boosting sales but since sales have dropped 18.1 percent so far this year, GM is letting employees extend their vehicle discount to the public.

The program, which started yesterday and ends Nov. 3, will allow employees to give their employee discount to two additional people. GM beat analyst estimates with a 15.6 percent sales decline in Sept. with similar incentives.

“It’s been proven to be popular in the past with employees and dealers and if we can sell some more cars and trucks, we’re happy to do it,” said John McDonald, a GM spokesman.
