GM looking to sell ACDelco aftermarket parts business
GM announced today that it is exploring a potential sale of ACDelco, its global independent aftermarket parts business. GM said that it is taking a number of actions to bolster liquidity by $15 billion through the end of 2009.
The sale of ACDelco is one of many actions GM is taking to generate up to $4 billion by selling its assets. Other assets on the line include the sale of the Hummer brand and its technical and manufacturing center in Strasbourg, France.
ACDelco, headquartered in Grand Blanc, Michigan, employs close to 600 people. In the U.S., ACDelco offers 37 full product lines with over 100,000 part numbers.
