Daimler to add 1,000 jobs worldwide next year

Despite the global financial crisis, Daimler AG announced today that it will add more than 1,000 jobs worldwide next year. The automaker will add 500 new jobs in Stuttgart, Germany. The other 500 jobs will be spread out globally.

Not only that, Daimler will not be able to make any job cuts at its German facilities until 2012 because it has a prior agreement with existing employees, according to Marina Krets, a spokeswoman for Daimler.

The company said it is well prepared to adjust to industry demand through flexibility measures to protect its business.
