Alfa 8C sells out in US – 8C Spider, large sedan, SUV on the way

Alfa Romeo will be making its return to the U.S. in late 2009 or early 2010 (no official date has been set), but has already sold out its first U.S. model prior to its return. Of the 500 produced only 84 8C Competizione coupes were set aside for the U.S. and all 84 have been accounted for. Next in line is the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider which is also going to have a limited production run of 500 units. Sales in the U.S. will kick off in 2010 but Alfa has not yet said how many it plans on allocating for the U.S.

Following that, Alfa will introduce an exclusive 500-hp Alfa Romeo 8C GTA. Only 100 units are planned to coincide with Alfa’s 100th birthday.

Alfa is also said to be working on a large rear-wheel-drive sedan that will use the chassis of the Jaguar XF. The large sedan will arrive on the market by 2011-2012. Already confirmed is an Alfa compact crossover that will compete with the BMW X3. It will come to European markets by 2010 followed by the U.S. a year later.
