Live from Paris 2008: Audi A1 Sportback concept gets 62 miles of zero emissions
Audi held the world premiere for its new Audi A1 Sportback concept earlier this morning at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. Based on the Audi A1 quattro seen at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, the A1 Sportback gives us a first look at what a five-door version of the A1 will look like when it arrives on the market later next year.
Power for the Audi A1 Sportback comes from a 150-hp 1.4L TFSI engine. 110 lb-ft of additional torque is provided during acceleration from a 27-hp electric motor. Powered by lithium-ion batteries, the electric-motor of the A1 Sportback allows for 62 miles of zero emissions driving on a full charge.
0 to 62 mph comes in 7.9 seconds while the fuel-economy is estimated at 60 mpg.
