Maserati GranTurismo MC Corse Concept coming to Paris

We learned earlier this week that Maserati had a prize in store for us at the 2008 Paris Motor Show – well this could very well be it. The Italian automaker today introduced its new GranTurismo MC Corse Concept. The car was produced by Maserati Style Center as a racing version of the GranTurismo S.

Maserati says that the GranTurismo MC Corse Concept has upgraded brakes, improved aerodynamics, a lighter and more stiff chassis, upgraded suspension settings for racing capabilities and of course, more performance. The front of the GranTurismo MC Corse Concept gets two large air intakes, a new hood with air inlet and two air vents. Other than that, it gets new 18-inch allow wheels and a roll cage which is FIA-approved.

Power comes from the from the same 4.7L V8 engine of the GranTurismo S but has been uprated to produce an extra 10-hp for a total of 450-hp with maximum torque coming in at 376 lb-ft.

The Maserati GranTurismo MC Concept was tested by Vodafone FIA GT driver Andrea Bertolini. It will be available for sale for those who wish to race in GT3 or GT4 classes.
