Ford unveiled the Ford Verve Concept at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show as a basis for the fourth-generation Ford Fiesta. Production versions of the Fiesta three-door and five-door hatchback were later seen at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. Built on a global platform, Ford will sell the new Fiesta in Europe later this year followed by North America in late 2009. The Ford Fiesta will first arrive in North America in sedan form based on the Verve Sedan Concept seen at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. Ford has also confirmed that the three-door and five-door hatchback will also be sold in the U.S. alongside the sedan.
European sales of the 2009 Ford Fiesta begin this autumn. For the 2009 model year, Ford will add an “˜Zetec S” to the European model range that also includes Style, Style Plus, Zetec and Titanium.
