Mark your calendars people. Company sources have told the Inside Liners that it will unveil the Veyron Targa (convertible) in mid-August at the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Production of the much anticipated Bugatti Veyron Targa is scheduled to kick off in 2009.
Bugatti spokesman Georges Keller has previously confirmed that the targa-top version of the Veyron will be powered by same 6.0L W16 as the coupe but will be tuned down to produce close to 990-hp. Top speed will also be limited to 217mph as a result of the convertible nature of the car.
Expect to pay around $250,000 more than the coupe which is currently selling at more than $2 million. Production is expected to be limited to 80 units.
