GM extends 0% financing through July 7th

The General notified its dealers this morning to extend its 0 percent financing sale through July 7th. The sale originally started on June 24th and ended June 30th. Conditions remain the same – 0 percent financing for 72 months for most GM vehicles.

“As you’ll hear later in our sales call today, it turned out to be a successful program. And when we’ve run it before, it’s been a success as well,” said Pete Ternes, a GM spokesman.

“I think it’s a good move on GM’s part to start July out strong,” said Lynn Thompson, owner of a dealership that sells Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Cadillac and Saab vehicles. Thompson said that traffic to his showrooms improved dramatically during the June 24th to June 30th period.

Thompson says he hoped to sell 50 new cars during the 72-hour sale and ended up selling 46. Not too shabby.
